Govt has a plan to construct more 82.42 km footpath

JATIYA SANGSAD, Oct 21, 2018 (BSS) –The government has a plan to
construct/reconstruction and development of 82.42 kilometers more footpath
in city area under the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives
(LGRD) Moshiur Rahman Ranga said this on behalf of the LGRD minister
while responding to a query made by treasury bench lawmaker M Abdul Latif
in the House here today.

The LGRD state minister said almost 193.71 kilometers footpath has already
been developed in the last 10 years. Presently, the construction work of 20.68
kilometers footpath is now going on, he added.

As per the instruction of the court, the Ranga said the DSCC authority is
always firm to evict illegal encroachment of the footpath and it will be
continued in future.

Besides, the newly constructed footpaths will be made suitable for movement
of the blind and disable people, he added.
The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has completed the construction of
195.25 kilometers footpath since its foundation, said the LGRD state minister.
