BHOLA, Oct 21, 2018 (BSS) – Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed today said political character of Barrister Moinul Hossain has been spoiled.
“Barrister Moinul lauded the activities of Islami Chhatra Shibir,appearing at a conference of the student wing of Jamaat in 2005 as the chief guest. He recently insulted noted journalist Masuda Bhatti which drew huge outcry from the women,” he said.
The minister said these while addressing a discussion in Bapta union under sadar upazila here this morning.
“Masuda Bhatti is an eminent and honest journalist, Moinul is not. Fifty-five eminent editors and senior journalists have called upon him to apologise publicly for hurling abusive words at Bhatti in a TV talk show,” Tofail added.
The commerce minister said Moinul had become the leader of Khandaker Mushtaq, killer of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
“Now he joined hands with the people who made attempts on the life of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina….formed alliance with the killers,” Tofail said, adding, “BNP has no leader right now. Their chairperson is in jail after getting convicted in a graft case. Their acting chairman (Tarique Rahman) has been sentenced to life imprisonment for murder. So they hired Dr
Kamal Hossain.”
The senior Awami League leader urged all to work for boat, Awami League’s election symbol, to resist all the evil forces in country keeping confidence in the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
Presided over by local union parishad chairman Yanur Rahman Biplob, the discussion was also addressed by district Awami League general secretary and district council chairman Abdul Momin Tulu, organising secretary Moinul Hossain Biplob and Md Mosharraf Hossain.
