CHATTOGRAM, Oct 20, 2018 (BSS)- Legendary rock star Ayub Bachchu was laid to eternal rest beside his mother’s grave at his family graveyard here this evening.
The singer of Rupali Guitar, lyricist and composer Ayub Bachchu alias Robin was buried next to his mother’s grave, as per his last wish after 3rd Namaz-e-Janaja was held in city’s Jamiatul Falah Complex premises after Asar prayers.
People from all walks of life irrespective of their caste, creed, political affiliation, leaders of different professional bodies, artistes, and activists of music, socio cultural and literary arenas and individuals attended the janaza.
Earlier, the body of Ayub Bachchu was brought to Chattogram around 10.55 am today and was taken to his grandfather’s (maternal) house at Madarbari.
City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin received the body at Chattogram Shah Amanat international Airport.
Earlier on Friday, people from all walks of life paid their last tributes to the celebrated guitarist, songwriter, composer and singer at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka.
The rock star died of a heart attack in Dhaka on Thursday at the age of 56.
