ISHARDI, Pabna, Oct 19, 2018 (BSS) – Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif today said people of all religions are living in the country with peacefully as Bangladesh is land of communal harmony.
“Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman dreamt of building a non-communal Bangladesh as the country had long tradition of communal harmony,” he told a function at Ishardi of the district on the occasion of Durga Puja, the largest festival of Hindu community, an official release said.
Sherif said Durga Puja is attached to the traditional heritage and culture of Bangla. “Apart from festivity, Durga Puja plays an important role in creating unity and mutual sympathy among the countrymen,” he added.
The minister urged the people of all faiths to extend their support to the government for continuation of ongoing development of the country.
