Ministers condole death of Ayub Bacchu

DHAKA, Oct 18, 2018 (BSS) – Several ministers today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Ayub Bacchu, one of the country’s top rock musicians and founder of the popular LRB band.

In separate condolence messages, the ministers prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul of Bacchu and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

The cabinet members are: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSc, Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar and State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadek.

They said Ayub Bacchu was a legend in the country’s band music arena. His contributions in the music field will be remembered forever, they added.

The nation has lost an outstanding dignified music director and singer at the death of Bacchu and it is an irreparable loss to the country’s music arena, the ministers said, adding that his songs will inspire the people for decades.

Ayub Bacchu breathed his last this morning following a cardiac arrest at his Magbazar residence at the age of 56, leaving behind wife, a son and a daughter alongside a huge number of relatives, disciples and admirers to mourn his death.
