DHAKA, Oct 17, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today said if the newly formed Jatiya Oikya Front tries to create anarchy in the country in the name of holding rallies, it will be resisted with the help of the people.
“Jatiya Oikya Front has announced holding rallies in the divisional cities, including Sylhet. They will try to create anarchy through these rallies. But it will be resisted with the people’s help, if they want to make such ill attempts,” he said, addressing a human chain in front of the Jatiya Press Club here.
Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad organized the human chain, protesting the conspiracies of BNP-Jamaat and Dr Kamal Hossain and others against the country, with its advisor Rafiqul Islam Masud presiding.
General Secretary of Dhaka City South unit of Awami League Shahe Alam Murad and Deputy Office secretary Miraj Hossain, President of Swadhinata Parishad Jinnat Ali Khan Jinnah and General Secretary Shahadat Hossain Toyel spoke in the protest programme, among others.
Referring to the Jatiya Oikya Front leaders, former environment and forest minister Mahmud said, “Actually they are conspirators. BNP leader Begum Khaleda Zia has hired them. And they are hatching conspiracies against the country”.
Pointing out that Bangladesh National Awami Party (NAP) and National Democratic Party (NDP) quit BNP-led 20-party alliance yesterday, he said some more political parties would leave the alliance in the future.
