Shahriar for boosting science-minded youths

RAJSHAHI, Dec 18, 2017 (BSS)- State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, said substantial and sustainable boosting the number of science-minded students and youths can be the vital means of taking the nation forward.

He said the young generation should be enriched with science and ICT knowledge to ensure their better contribution in the development process of the country.

He was distributing prizes among the winners of Inter-school Science Fair and Competition at Charghat Pilot School playground here on Sunday as the chief guest while headmaster of the School Rezaul Islam in the chair.

The school authority organized the fair in association with two NGOs- Sachetan and Bangladesh Freedom Foundation under the Secondary School Science Development Project.

Main thrust of the fair was to encouraging the young scientists towards more innovation alongside flourishing their latent talents and building a science-minded and knowledge-based society.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ashraful Islam, Secondary Education Officer Joynal Abedeen, Editor of Daily Sonar Desh Akbarul Hassan Millat, and Executive Director of Sachetan Hasinul Islam were spoke on the occasion.

State Minister Shahriar Alam said there is no way but to wide-ranging promotion of the science and technology sector for overall development of the country.

The young generation will take the nation one-step forward through improving the technological area and all of us should create an enabling situation for them in this regard, he added.

He referred to various aspects of expanding science education towards doorsteps of both rural and urban students and said there is no alternative to acquiring scientific knowledge to devise ways and means on how to make the nation technologically advanced.
