Palak for combating terrorism, militancy and drug-addiction

RAJSHAHI, Dec 18, 2017 (BSS)- State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, on Sunday called for combating terrorism, militancy and drug-addiction.

He said if these three enemies can be defeated and eliminated there will be no more obstruction towards taking the country forward.

He was inaugurating a two-day ‘Information and Communication Engineering (CSE) Carnival- 2017’ here as chief guest. Barendra University organized the event at its campus at Talaimary area here.

More than 60 students from 11 universities joined the carnival with programme and gaming contents, idea composition, collegiate ICT Olympiad, robot competition and project shows.

Akhter Jahan, MP, former vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University Prof Saidur Rahman Khan, Vice-chancellor of Barendra University Prof Osman Gani and Pro-VC Prof Nurul Hossain Chowdhury also spoke.

Zunaid Palak said the youth forces have already started building Digital Bangladesh through their learning and earning activities.

He said the present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is extending all support and cooperation towards them so that they could build themselves as ICT-based income-generators.

The government is implementing various programme across the country to create opportunities for earning foreign currency through online outsourcing, he said.

‘Freelancing is an extremely prospective sector worldwide and now it is very popular in our country,’ he added.

Zunaid Palak told the meeting that ‘Rajshahi Bangabandhu Silicon City’ is going to be established here within the next 36 months with a view to achieving a set of specific mission and vision of establishing a world class business environment for targeted high growth industrial sector and new business.

Around 14,000 youths will get job there.
