Menon urges rich nations to cut carbon use

DHAKA, Oct 16, (BSS)- Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon today said the government has taken different programmes for combating the climate change through forming Climate Trust with own fund.

“Bangladesh is the sixth among the 10 highest climate change risky countries. But the position of Bangladesh in environment pollution is lowest,” he said, speaking at a discussion at the auditorium of Jatiya Press Club here.

Bangladesh Krishi Farm Sramik Federation organized the discussion on climate changes, said an official press release.

Menon urged the developed countries to reduce the use of carbon and to come forward to combat the climate change impacts on the coastal countries like Bangladesh.

He also urged the countrymen to cast their votes in favour of the present government to ensure food security and combat climate change.
