Digital security law not aimed at media: Inu
DHAKA, Oct 15, 2018(BSS)-Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu today said that the “Digital Security Law” was not directed at journalists.
The minister said this while talking to media men after attending a seminar at the National Press Club.
He said, “We had promised the editors’ council that the cabinet would discuss the matter. Today it has been discussed quite exhaustively by the prime minister during the cabinet meeting”.
Inu said “This law has been promulgated for the protection of children, for protection from hackers and other cyber criminals. It does not in any way target journalists.”
“However, if there is anything more to add the concerned persons can discuss the matter with the relevant authorities and ministries, “he said.
