Tigers emphasis single rotation in practice session

DHAKA, Oct. 15, 2018, (BSS)- The Tigers prioritized on
rotating the scoreboard with series of singles and doubles
when it is on the card as they showed their shortcomings in
the aspect in the recent past.

On the first day of the practice session ahead of the home
series against Zimbabwe, the head coach Steve Rhodes was seen
working with the batsmen with single rotation. The batsmen
were seen to running between the wickets quickly in a match
scenario practice session, highlighting how it is important
to take quick singles when it is on the offer.

“If you are proactive and concentrate on taking singles
when it is on offer, it can boost your scoreboard. Someone
like Virat Kohli did it regularly to not only make his strike
rate healthy but also make the scoreboard healthy,” Mushfiqur
Rahim, one of the senior Bangladeshi batsman, said some days
ago.

He said it is one of the aspects that they want to
improve.

And Rhodes’s intense session with single rotation was the
testament of what Mushfiqur Rahim said earlier.

Newbie Fazle Rabbi, who got a maiden call-up in the
national team, during the first day’ practice session said
they worked basically on single rotation as it is important
to rotate the scoreboard quickly.

He said the coach mainly worked on how the cricketers
could take quick singles without taking any risk,”

Rabbi said they have worked on other things also, like
technical aspect. But it is not possible to change many
things overnight. So there was lot of talk on what to do and
not to do.

A total of 13 players out of 15 joined the day’s practice
session. Fast bowler Rubel Hossain and spin all-rounder
Mehidy Hasan Miraj could not joined the first day’s session
because of their illness.
