and tranquility as the present government is pledged bound to establish
communal harmony in the society.

Meanwhile, artisans commonly known as Pauls and others concerned are
passing their busy days in finishing the final stage work on making idols of
Hindu deities ahead of Durga Puja festival in Rajshahi city including nine
upazilas of the district.

After today, the largest religious festival of Hindu community “Durga
Puja” is going to start. That’s why the Pauls are working round the clock to
make sure that the idols are ready on time.

The Pauls hope for earning better earnings this year as the number of puja
mandaps has increased in the region.

Tapan Kumar Sen, trustee of Hindu Religion Welfare Trust, told BSS that
the Durga puja will be celebrated in more than 422 puja mandaps including 70
in Rajshahi city from October 15 to 19.

Around 500 artisans are engaged in making idols for Durga Puja in the
region, he said.
