Guardians get nutrition advices in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, OCT 12, 2018 (BSS) – More than 100 guardians who have children
aged from 7 months to 24 months got nutrition related advices with Monimix
nutrition food from an NGO free of cost here yesterday afternoon.

Sadar upazila medical officer Dr Moon Moon Farzana provided the advices to
the guardians of the children on the premises of Ramchandrapur union parishad
(UP) complex under Sadar upazila.

SKS Foundation, a local voluntary organisation, arranged the programme
under its National Citizen Service (NCS) project with the financial support
from Volunteer Service Overseas (VSO) and the UK Aid.

The programme was organised under the overall management of NCS volunteers
aimed at enhancing health and nutrition related idea and conception to the
guardians.

The programme was followed by a discussion where sadar upazila health and
family planning officer Dr ABM Abu Hanif addressed as the chief guest while
UP chairman Rafiqul Islam in the chair.

Moderated by youth club member Shajahan Miah, the meeting was also
addressed, among others, by local teacher Mozammel Haque, project officer
Shah M Harun-or-Rashid and team leader of NCS volunteer Jobayer Islam.

Dr Abu Hanif urged the guardians to feed nutrition food to the children and
ensure recreational activities, including sports, to make them physically
fit.

He emphasised nurturing their kids properly so that they could be worthy
citizen and lead the country in the future.

A large number of students, teachers, guardians, local elites, NGO
activists and journalists were present on the occasion.
