Govt to implement 1,976 digital services by 2021

DHAKA, Oct 10, 2018 (BSS) – The government has taken a plan to implement 1,976 digital services by 2021 in different departments, directorates and organisations.

The information was made public at a function on the “Coordination of Digital Service Implementation Plan-2021” at the Officers’ Club in the city on Tuesday, said a press release here today.

Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar attended the function as the chief guest and inaugurated the Implementation of Digital Service Dashboard. Cabinet Division and Access to Information (a2i) jointly made the dashboard.

Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Md Nojibur Rahman and Public Administration Secretary Faiz Ahmed attended the function as special guests while Information Communication and Technology Secretary Zuena Aziz was in the chair.

Jabbar said the government is providing all sorts of efforts to implement digital government and digital education. “We are also working to digitize all sectors, including trade and industry,” he added.

He said connectivity is the main sources to implement the ‘Digital Sarkar’. So, the government has connected 772 unions under the Info Sarkar-3, he added.

According to the press release, the government will implement the plan of 1976 digital services in 53 ministries and 394 departments, directorate and organisations.
