DHAKA, Oct 9, 2018 (BSS) – Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar,
Mongla and Payra have been advised to be hoisted local cautionary signal
number one as the well-marked low over Southeast Bay and adjoining North
Andaman Sea is moving towards North or North-Westerly direction.
“The well-marked low over Southeast Bay and adjoining North Andaman Sea
intensified into a depression over east central Bay and adjoining west
central Bay and further intensified into a deep depression over west central
Bay and adjoining East central Bay…It is likely to intensify further and
move in a north or north-westerly direction,” said a met office warning
message issued here this morning.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to take
shelter immediately and proceed with caution till further notice.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by
temporary gusty wind with moderately heavy to heavy falls is likely to occur
at some places across the country in next 24 hours commencing 9 am today,
said another met office bulletin.
Day and night temperature may fall by (1-2) degrees Celsius in Southern
part of the country and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the
country.
The maximum temperature was recorded 35.5 degrees Celsius yesterday at
Khulna while today’s minimum temperature 21.7 degrees Celsius at Dimla in
Rangpur division.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded
35mm at Teknaf in Chattogram division, the release added.
The sun sets at 5:38 pm today and rises at 5:53 am tomorrow in the
capital.
