Muhith leaves for Bali tonight to attend World Bank Group annual meetings

DHAKA, Oct 8, 2018 (BSS) – Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith leaves
here for Bali, Indonesia tonight on a week-long tour to attend the Annual
Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF)

The Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and IMF will take place in Bali
Nusa Dua, Indonesia.

According to the Ministry of Finance, Muhith, during his tour, will attend
the Commonwealth Secretary-General’s reception, Commonwealth Finance
Minister’s meeting, Bank-Fund annual meeting plenary session, host government
reception, high-level breakfast meeting organised by the Asia & Pacific
Department (APD) of IMF, IMFC plenary, constituency lunch hosted by Indian
Finance Minister, development committee plenary, opening session of the 4th
high-level meeting on country-led knowledge sharing, alongside taking part in
different sessions of the annual meetings.

Besides, the Finance Minister is also scheduled to hold meeting with World
Bank South Asia Regional Vice President Hartwig Schafer and DMD of IMF
Mitsuhiro Furusawa.

After wrapping his tour, Muhith is scheduled to return home on October 17.

The meetings will bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and
development, private sector executives, civil society, media and academics to
discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook,
global financial stability, poverty eradication, jobs and growth, economic
development, aid effectiveness and climate change.
